Welcome to the CCGA #37 new website.

Welcome to our new website. We hope this website will allow the community of Sooke to see what CCGA-P Unit #37 is all about. We’ll update the latest news section from time to time with new events and happenings. We’ll add to the photo galleries and share stories.

We are always looking for new members. You do not need to be experiences, nor do you need to have any formal training. Once you become a member, the Sooke Coast Guard Aux. will train you in all aspects of SAR related training.

For more information or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Unit 37: Congratulations on finally getting a website. As a former very active member of the unit, I am pleased to see that this will now give Unit 37 the visibility to the public which I beleive has been long overdue.
I am eagerly looking forward to see the future development of this great site.

    Well done!

I am proud to serve with the volunteer members of Station 37 Sooke of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary -Pacific who give unselfishly of their time to provide marine search and rescue services 24/7 as well as promoting boating safety.

Our service area covers the Strait of Juan de Fuca from Race Rocks to Nitinat Lake, northwest of Port Renfrew.

Our financial support society, Juan de Fuca Marine Rescue Society raises funds to purchase our rescue vessel and equipment. The society receives a major portion of its funding requirements from BC Gaming. In addition to doing community fund raising events, donations are received from individuals, businesses, service organizations, and from both municipal and regional governments.

    Congratulations on your web site.

I was the Unit leader for some six years, and Persident of the SMRS for the same period.

I am well aware of the challenges of raising funds and keeping crew intertested in the unit.

Looks like you have a great boat, a far cry from Rescue 37 (Robalo) and the old Spirit of Sooke (302 Scarab).

Good luck and kkep up the good work.

    Cheers.

    Peter J. Ho
